TUESDAY - Session Prayer Meeting at 7pm in the Bruce Room.
SUNDAY EVENINGS ARE BACK! (but with a difference...)
Time to reconnect once more on Sunday evenings as from Sunday 10th October we'll meet at 6.30pm in the Majury Hall. The theme will be the Bible book of Philippians and the format will alternate week about between an 'evening service' (think pre-Covid) and a Bible Study (think small groups in a big hall). In the meantime, why not do some 'homework' & get to know Philippians by reading a little (or a lot!) of it every day?
Parking Notice - From Monday 4th of October, building work will commence on the front of the church. There will be no parking in the church avenue during the week but this does not include Sunday.
Christian Aid - Haiti Earthquake
On Saturday 14 August, a 7.2-magnitude earthquake struck Haiti at Les Cayes, 75 miles west of the capital of Port-au-Prince. On Tuesday 16 August, Tropical Storm Grace hit Haiti, triggering flooding and mudslides complicating rescue efforts.
To date the earthquake has claimed more than 2,200 lives, injured almost 12,000 people and destroyed 130,000 homes. At least 344 people are still missing. Families are seeking safety wherever they can with nothing but the clothes on their backs.
Entire communities have been made homeless.
Right now, people who have lost everything need emergency shelter, food, drinking water and access to healthcare. Christian Aid local partners are on the ground ready to respond, but we need your help to reach more of the most vulnerable people – women and girls, older people and people with disabilities are all most at risk. We’re on the ground now, poised to deliver relief to people who need it most. But we urgently need your help. With the risk of flash floods and mudslides coming soon, we’re racing to get aid to people as fast as we can.
If you would like to help, Christian Aid envelopes are available to collect from baskets at the top of the front of the steps of the church.
General Assembly -The 2021 Presbyterian Church in Ireland General Assembly meets this week, Monday 4th - Wednesday 6th October. It will be live-streamed so feel free to watch the Assembly in action by visiting the PCI website (https://www.presbyterianireland.org/) and accessing the link.
