CHOIR & PRAISE BAND
One of the ways we can worship God is through singing.
Let me dispel some common myths about the Choir:
· You don’t have to be a brilliant singer.
· You don’t have to audition.
· You don’t have to sing on your own.
· You don’t have to be able to play an instrument.
· You don’t have to be able to read music…
You just have to be able to read the words and sing along with everyone else.
Our long established Praise Band leads the praise at the evening services and also regularly plays at morning services. Currently the band consists of the following instruments:
Flute | Clarinet | Soprano Saxophone | Alto Saxophone | Tenor Saxophone | Trumpet | Trombone | Guitar | Drums | Piano
(but not necessarily all playing at the same time!)
The Praise Band practises at 6.15 pm every Sunday evening- the members are dedicated and talented musicians in their own right.
The band has helped teach new songs, such as “You Are Holy” and is a welcome accompaniment to the modern songs that we sing at the evening services.Choir practice is held on Thursday evenings, starting at 7.30pm in the Primary Room (at the back of the Church). We practise the hymns and songs for Sunday morning’s service and we also work on some new songs. The Choir sings special pieces at the annual Harvest Thanksgiving services, Carol Service and Easter Services, so we also practise music appropriate for these occasions. Practice lasts for approximately one and a half hours and there’s usually a bit of craic – it’s not like being back at school! It is enjoyable and I can guarantee that all newcomers will receive a warm welcome.
Singing at the Evening Services
What can you do if you want to sing but Thursday evenings don’t suit?
A small nucleus of singers leads the praise during the evening services and we’d love to see more people joining them – both men and women. They start practising at 6.15pm, before the evening service each week.
If you would like to become involved with either the Choir or the Singers at the evening services, speak to me- Alison Chestnutt, or use the “Contact Us” on the website.

CHAT N CHEW
CHAT 'N CHEW is a caring and sharing ministry within our Church, It is a ministry for those from within our Church Family but it is also for the bigger "Antrim" family from beyond our gates.
What do we do? Exactly as it says in our name, we chat and we chew, we talk and we eat! We talk, we listen, we share, we reminisce and we welcome and reach out in our Lord's name.
We rejoice with some in their good news, we empathise with others in their sad news but most of all we are just there for whatever the need.
Then there's the "chew". There's always plenty of tea and coffee and snacks to nibble as we talk.
So if you're ever feeling lonely, need someone to talk to or you simply just want to get out of the house for an hour, come along to Chat 'N Chew and we'll do our best to bring a light into your day.
"For as much as you do it unto the least of one of these my brothers and sisters, you do it unto me." Matthews 25:40.
Thursday mornings 10.00am to 12.00pm in the Church Halls.
