COMMUNITY CHRISTMAS DINNER FOR PRAYER POINTS

11/22/2018

PRAYER POINTS FOR COMMUNITY CHRISTMAS DINNER

Pray on every occasion, as the Holy Spirit leads, stay alert and be persistent in your prayers.”  Ephesians 6 : 18

WHERE?          Majury Hall, First Antrim Presbyterian Church

WHEN?           6:30pm, Thursday 22nd November (bookings to be in by 18th November, please)

WHY?              To share the love of Christ with the wider community in Antrim and to introduce them to Jesus.

WHO?             Invitations will be given to Homestart, Women’s Aid and others.  Church members may invite non-Christian friends.

HOW MUCH?  The event will be free to all who attend on the evening but we would ask that as a Congregation we would make this possible.  Donations can be placed in an envelope marked “Community Dinner” and put in the offering plate.  If you wish to “Gift Aid” your donation, please include your FWO number.
The success of this venture does not just depend on good planning and good food, but on a commitment to PRAY.  Please pray daily for this outreach event.  Prayer is essential in this ongoing warfare.

THANK GOD:
·         For the success of such events in the past
·         For the willingness of Homestart and Women’s Aid to give out invitations
·         For good facilities in the Church Halls
·         For the opportunity to reach out with the Good News of Jesus Christ to those outside the Church Community in a meaningful way at this special time of the year
·         For the visiting catering team and for the team of willing helpers from “First”.

PRAY:
Ø  That the Congregation will again take ownership of this event viewing it as an expression of love and concern for the people of our town.
Ø  For a positive response from ALL who receive an invitation (Homestart, Women’s Aid etc)
Ø  For a generous spirit to be shown by the Congregation so that adequate finances will be available to host the event.
Ø  That every guest will feel the warmth of our welcome and that more barriers between “church” and “community” will be broken down.
Ø  For the development of good conversations during the evening.
Ø  For safety throughout the complex especially in the kitchens and while food is being served.
Ø  That Stephen Lockington will be aware of the Holy Spirit’s guidance in his preparation and delivery of the message and that many will become aware of their need of salvation.
Ø  For many opportunities for good follow-up to be undertaken.

PRAY THAT MANY WILL MEET JESUS
