Belfast City Mission
“Proclaiming God’s Word is a privilege but it is also a serious responsibility” (Ronnie Armour, President BCM) The BCM has been fulfilling this serious responsibility since 1827. Rev D Bannerman, Honorary Secretary sets out in his 2017/18 report some of the challenges the missionaries face and the ‘tried and tested’ and ‘new and varied’ ways they use to reach the people in our capital city with the gospel. Give praise and thanks for the work carried out over summer in the children’s holiday bible clubs and football camp and Youth events. Thanks for the ongoing contact with people through foodbanks, Mums and Tots groups, craft classes, GB and BB companies. Pray for more helpers in the halls as many have ageing membership. Pray for the missionaries as they work among their districts week by week. Pray for good health and that they will see people come to know Jesus through their work. For more information please pick up the Annual Report and Exchange Prayer Update bulletin. Also visit www.belfastcitymission.org.uk CAP STORE We in the Antrim CAP Centre are most grateful to all in the fellowship who donate items of food, toiletries and other items for us to distribute to clients as a blessing from God. This is an important part of our ministry. Below I have listed the items that we are currently short of to assist you in supplying items that would most benefit us….. Tea, coffee, diluting juice, sugar, cereals, tinned fruit, jam and all types of toiletries.

Bible Reading Notes are available for all ages. Large print versions of some notes are available. Maybe you know someone who would benefit from a gift of Bible Reading Notes. All orders need to be in by 9 December please! Any queries, speak to Kate McAllister Thanks.
FOG CLUB TOY APPEAL We would love each child/family to bring a small present suitable for a small child up to teenager, wrapped and labelled with gender and age. Please place them under the tree this Sunday or next Sunday prior to the church service on Sunday 9 December. These presents will then be delivered to kids in need in this town in time for Christmas. This is a wonderful opportunity for our church to show God’s love to children in Antrim. Thank you.
CHRISTMAS KNITTING If you have been busy knitting the Christmas decorations, please give them to Margaret Gilbert or drop them into the office before next Sunday.
LET’S PUT ANTRIM 1ST/CAP CHRISTMAS HAMPERS We are grateful for the Congregation’s continued generosity in support of the Emergency Hamper Ministry Sunday after Sunday. For the last 8 years a special collection of food and gifts has been made in the weeks leading up to Christmas to provide Christmas Hampers for families and individuals in need within Antrim. Sunday 9th December will be the Gift Sunday for this years’ hamper appeal. Session would encourage the Congregation to contribute via the offering plate towards the appeal through financial donations in an envelope marked “Christmas hampers”. Please include your FWO number on the envelope. This will allow us to claim gift aid where appropriate and therefore increase significantly the value of your generous gift. A bulk order can then be placed for the contents of the hampers. Please continue to pray for all who have received parcels to date, that they might know God’s presence and come to know Him as LORD.
